Meet Timothy
I was born in Houston, Texas and graduated high school in 1987 in Livingston, Texas. After high school, I joined the U.S. Navy as a Russian Language Specialist. I
spent a year at the military’s language school in Monterey, California, and a year near the Black Sea, on duty in Turkey. I returned stateside and worked as a Soviet Naval Analyst at the National Security Agency. I proudly started my military service under Ronald Reagan as my Commander-in-Chief and served during both the end of the Cold War and during Desert Storm (I was at the NSA for the latter).
After my active duty service, I remained in the Naval Reserves while attending nursing school in Columbia, Maryland. I graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1993 and returned to Texas to work for the VA Hospital System in San Antonio.
In 1995, I moved into what is now Congressional District 17, to College Station, to attend Texas A&M University, where I graduated with a degree in Biology in 1998. I love this area, so I decided to stay. I currently work in the Bryan/College Station area as an overnight Critical Care shift supervisor.
I’m married to the wonderful Stefanie and we have a beautiful one year-old daughter, Kylie. I also have 3 fantastic teenage boys, Aaron, James, and Alexander.
I love to write. After my divorce which tore at my soul because I had let down my Lord, I wrote a book that I haven’t published yet. It is about relationships and faith, and helped me to come to terms with my disappointing God. I’ve written some poetry. I’m a big baseball fan and admit that the Astros are my team! (I can and do root for the Rangers so long as they aren’t playing my ‘Stros). My wife and I have yellow labs that are a part of our family. I love to read and divide my reading time between political non-fiction books and sci-fi. My favorite non-fiction book is “Tipping Point” by Malcolm Gladwell, and my favorite sci-fi book is “Ender’s Game” by Orson Scott Card. For those familiar with that book, “The enemy’s gate is down”.
I am a citizen appalled by the excesses of Washington. I believe that it is time to stand up and tell Washington to back off. We need more citizen-legislators in Washington. We need more Statesmen. We need more Conservatives. We need more Christians willing to stand up for Christian precepts in Washington. I started running a “grassroots” campaign in February of 2009 because I think that a common man with common roots in our community is a better and ultimately wiser choice than keeping a professional politician in the job. Our grassroots effort has turned into a District-wide movement as thousands of people have encouraged me and supported me. I would be honored if you, too, would make me your choice to represent you.
This is our time to return our Party and Nation to our Conservative, Christian roots. This is the place – the House is where we can stop the current leadership in Washington and this seat must be a key element to take back the House. This is our vote – and it should reflect the Conservative viewpoint of this community. The time is now to invest in restoring our values to our Government. I am counting on your time, assistance, and vote to further that restoration.
An oath is not to be taken lightly and I stand by that. Though a Christian, I am not running as a Christian, but as an American. A Christian’s guidebook is the Bible; an American’s guidebook is the Constitution.
The title of the job I am interviewing for is “Representative”. And based on my history, that’s what I am. Not a politician, a representative. I am you! This year, “we the people” have a choice.
