Official Unemployment Tops 10 Percent

Unemployment today registered in at 10.2%, the highest numbers in over 25 yrs and more than double the 4.9% Unemployment rate in January 2007 when Democrats took back control of Congress.

That’s not the worst part. The U6 Unemployment numbers, a figure that includes all unemployment and most closely represents the numbers used to measure unemployment during the Great Depression, came in at a startling 17.5%!

Mr. President, Speaker Pelosi, Maj. Ldr. Reid: WHERE ARE THE JOBS?!

The so-called “stimulus” bill was supposed to keep unemployment under 8%. It’s failed, miserably.

This Administration has spent almost 6 Trillion Dollars in the last year and Congressman Chet Edwards voted for every single reckless penny of it. And for what? Where are the jobs? Cong. Edwards admitted that he did not bother to read the “stimulus” bill before voting it into law. Maybe, sir, you should have.

Our economy and our nation works best not because of government interference, but in spite of it. It’s time for new leadership in Washington. It’s time for leadership that respects our citizens to make their own best choices. It’s time for conservative leadership in Washington.

Chet Edwards votes with Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank and his Party’s leadership over 96% of the time. It is that leadership, recklessly bent on a destructive policy of borrow and spend, that is taking money out of the economy that would better be used for job creation.

President Reagan said that the nine scariest words in the English language are, “I’m from the government and I’m here to help.” If this current leadership helps us out any more, we’ll all be on bread lines.

Mr. Edwards, Speaker Pelosi, Maj. Ldr. Reid, President Obama: LEAVE THE AMERICAN ECONOMY ALONE.
